The biggest game of the year in the German football league – German bowl XLII who will oppose the Dresden monarchs and Schwäbisch Hall unicorns against each other – set to debut on Saturday 9th October at Frankfurt.
With an expected crowd of more than 14,500 spectators (maximum allowed), and a national television broadcast, the match promises to be a major sporting event. Two separate commentary teams will be on site, one German and an English. the Dresden monarchs finished the regular season 9-1 and went on to beat the Allgäu comets 50-13 in the quarterfinals, then shut out the Hurricanes in the Saarland 37-0 in the semifinals. the Schwäbisch Hall unicorns went undefeated in the regular season (10-0) then defeated the defending champion Braunschweig New Yorker Lions 38-13 in the quarter-finals before winning 28-18 against the Potsdam Royals in the semi-finals.
