
Orange Belgium has launched a next-generation 4K Android TV set-top box, offering access to a range of content apps including Amazon Prime Video and Streamz, as well as access to Chromecast functionality and a new cloud recording service multi-screen.
A new interface offers direct access to local content providers including VRT NU and RTBF Auvio. A number of applications are pre-installed and accessible without opening a Google account.
Voice search and control is available through Google Assistant, with a microphone built into the remote.
Recorded programs are available through the Orange cloud, allowing users to access them from any device, be it their TV or. Orange TV Plus application for smartphone, tablet and web.
Orange Belgium has also teamed up with the streaming provider Streamz to offer the latter’s catalog free of charge for three months.
According to Orange, the box is very durable and both the box and the remote are designed to be environmentally friendly, energy efficient and made from recycled materials.
“This new generation of set-top boxes not only marks the launch of a new device; it will fundamentally transform the way we deliver content to our customers,” said Christophe Dujardin, Chief Consumer Officer at Orange Belgium.
