A new documentary will take us behind the scenes of Castle Howard as he prepares for a spectacular Christmas.
The stately home has been transformed into Narnia for its most ambitious festive displays to date.
And Christmas At… Chateau Howard on Channel 4 this Wednesday (December 15) will show us how it was done.
This is the first in a three-part series that looks at what really happens in our stately homes.
“This magical series enjoys unprecedented behind-the-scenes access to a trio of the nation’s biggest houses as they decorate their venues and transform for Christmas in their own way,” Channel 4 said.
Each year, Castle Howard Creative Director Charlotte Lloyd Webber and her team are tasked with transforming the home and grounds for the holiday season.
This year, they are creating Narnia, with theatrical sets, lights and sound effects.
Meanwhile, owner Nick Howard photographs the annual Christmas card. However, when the tree arrives late and turns out to be too big and too fit, it requires emergency chainsaw surgery.
Christmas at Castle Howard airs on Channel 4 Wednesday, December 15 at 9 p.m.
