The ever-evolving Spider-Verse at Sony would have started another project. ComicBook.com Reports Series Starring Marvel Comics Silk will begin filming in August. It was announced last year that the show was in development. The series is set to land on Amazon Prime.
According to ComicBook.com, Discussing Film first reported the expected production date. The series is expected to wrap filming in early 2022. The series is based on Marvel superhero Cindy Moon, a Korean-American woman living in Queens, New York. A spinoff of Marvel’s Spider-Man, Moon first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #1 and eventually fought alongside different teams, including Agents of Atlas. Created by Dan Slott (Amazing Spider-Man Vol. 1, Fantastic Four) and Humberto Ramos (Strange Academy: First Class, Revelations), SilkThe first solo number of debuted in 2015.
The series is produced by Phil Lord (The Lego Movie, 22 Jump Street) and Chris Miller (Clone High, cloudy with a chance of meatballs) as part of their overall TV deal with Sony Pictures Television, according to ComicBook.com. After the success of the Oscar-winning animated feature Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Lord and Miller and Sony have committed to more spinoffs in both television and film.

According to ComicBook.com, Sang Kyu Kim (The Walking Dead, Jupiter’s Legacy) was selected as showrunner as well as executive producer. Moon’s lead role was not cast, but Lord and Miller reportedly discussed the character’s role with Adeline Rudolph. (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Riverdale).
