
A television series based on the PlayStation franchise God of the war is in the works, with Amazon Prime Video in negotiations to host.
According to Deadlinethe project will be led by Mark Fergus and Hawk Otsby of The extentand Rafe Judkins of The wheel of time.
God of the war covers seven games, designed for four different PlayStation consoles. It first launched in 2005 and focuses on the ancient Spartan warrior Kratos and his mission to avenge the deaths of his loved ones at the hands of Ares.
Several games were released for PS3 and PSP, before being relaunched with the 2018 PlayStation 4 game. The new addition won Game of the Year at the 2018 Game Awards.
There is currently an eighth game in the works, God of War: Ragnarokfor PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
Examination of the God of the war PC game earlier this year, NME wrote a four-star review: “Looking back, I think there’s actually East a point where you can tire of Kratos’ antics, and if you’re not fully absorbed in the story by then, the game can start to drag when you start your 30th fight against enemies you can easily to tear.
“But, the joy of combat paired with the storytelling will get most people through the credits.”
