At the start of the screening of the search for the Philippine representative for this year’s Miss World pageant, members of the pageant media were pleasantly surprised to see one of their colleagues join the battle for the right to represent the country in the London-based competition. .
ABS-CBN Star Patroller Ganiel Krishnan came in a stunning navy blue ensemble which made him stand out clearly among the ladies who were screened today, February 4th.
When asked what drove her to take the risk of joining a competition at that point, the 5’5 ” beauty simply replied, “I just think I’m ready for the world. Ibang laban ito. I think I can take over the world right now. This is not the first time that she joined a big contest. Before joining ABS-CBN, Krishnan joined Miss Manila and Mutya ng Pilipinas, where she won the highest crowns.
At 26, Krishnan already enjoys generous airtime on the Kapamilya network, where she occasionally hosts the Star News segment of TV Patrol. Wouldn’t her candidacy darken her as a news anchor? “It shouldn’t. My being a broadcast journalist remains my heart even as I embark on the pageantry. It is even the main basis of my advocacy for the competition, ”she said.

In her quest to win her second Blue Crown for the Philippines, Krishnan even believes that her experiences as a journalist and news anchor will certainly come in handy.
“As they say, I am at the forefront of truth and justice as a journalist. I think I am prepared naman na ipakita yan sa mga tao. And since Miss World is known for her “Beauty with a Purpose” platform, I would say providing people with the truth is a huge, real goal that I can stand up for if, in case I win the crown, ”said the young man, said the journalist.
So far, the Philippines have only won the Miss World crown once, in 2013, thanks to the victory of actress Megan Young.
