In 2014, Nottinghamshire Police were made aware of a potential double murder that had taken place 16 years earlier – two bodies were buried in the garden of a nondescript semi-detached house in a quiet suburban cul-de-sac. The bodies, according to the appellant, were those of Patricia Wycherley, 63, and her husband William, 85, who had been murdered and buried in their garden in 1998.
